Work-life-balance is an important concept!

Let's benefit from the wisdom of an old dog!
Imagine the scene: You are a normal dog loitering around the office while your mistress is in a client meeting. When you go up to her to say hello, she barely turns her head, so busy is she with her subject - and she completely forgets that it's been over two hours since my last meal and I'm starving again.

You Humans are strange creatures, you tend to forget that life is not only about work … As a dog, I know that sleeping and eating are much more important than contributing to the GDP, achieving quarterly goals, or complying with some compliance rules.

Oh, you Humans! You are busy little bees, buzzing to work, work and work some more, forgetting that life starts where your job description ends. As a seasoned dog, I know that rest time is just as important as contribution to GDP, if not more so. After all, what is the point of working if you don’t have the time or energy to enjoy the fruits of your labour?

If I observe you in your natural habitat, I always hear: ‘Time is money’. And you live fully according to this maxim! Always on the move, working to earn a living and provide for yourselves and your loved ones. But in this hamster wheel you forget the essentials of life. Yes, having a job is important to pay the bills and buy food for your dogs (but not your cats!). But it is not an end in itself. There is more to life than just work, and I think you should remember that.

For example, sleeping is just as important as working. If you don’t sleep enough, you are more likely to make mistakes, be less productive and generally feel bad. And what’s the point of working if you then feel bad all the time? Look at this picture of my old friend Rooky:

Sleeping dog

Doesn’t this picture indicate that when Rooky wakes up, he will have the incredible concentration of a Tibetan monk combined with the strength of ancient Hercules?

Nutritionis also important. A balanced diet with plenty of raw meat, bones, cookies, and butter will help you maintain your energy levels and stay focused throughout the day. Again, what’s the point of working if you’re then tired and unfocused? To prove this, let’s take another example - my sister Lilibeth:

You can clearly see here that after eating, she is able to overcome the validation of the Riemann conjecture- a mathematical mystery since the mid-19th century - and now finally reveal the true nature of prime numbers to the very greatest benefit and pleasure of dogs and humans.

So, you humans, you should listen to the experience of an old dog and put the priorities right in your life. Next time you feel stressed at work, remember to follow the advice of Sya, Chief Happiness Officer at AGILIS and very experienced old dog: sleep enough and make sure that you are always well fed, so nothing can go wrong!

Are you interested in speaking with us about what you can do to improve the work-life-balance of your staff without generating additional cost - or even while saving cost? Well, unfortunately, I am fully booked for the next couple of months - eating, sleeping, walking, playing, again eating, and so on, you see! But you can contact one of our humans, as they are so happy to work!
