Is the classic 'command, control, correct' still relevant for companies?

Or do we have to adopt a new leadership paradigm?
Over decades, the principle of 'management by rules' has become established in our companies. It sometimes controls the smallest detail and, thanks to its focus on efficiency and repeatability, has been the reason for the success of traditional industry.

But the approach is not flexible enough to deal with constantly changing conditions. And more importantly, Generation Z is no longer willing to accept rigid leadership paradigms like this one:

Command Check Correct

But this does not mean that Generation Z people cannot be motivated - on the contrary, these people can work hard for a cause and perform at their best if they can identify with the values and actions of their employer, see meaning in their work and put people and their needs at the centre. This creates a new leadership paradigm:

Management by Values

It is not enough to simply incorporate these aspects into the ‘employee experience’ - it also requires a development of leadership principles. The key word here is ‘management by values’. This approach puts core values and a sense of purpose at the centre and ensures that all employees are pulling in the same direction.
